Read Matthew 11:28-30 the vision

I felt God near and I turned to Him.  It had been a long time.  I had been carrying so much anxiety, worry and fear; and now, I had lost my way.  I remembered Jesus words “Come to Me, you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”  I came to Him, and He held out His hands.

“Give Me your burdens,” He said. “Give me all your cares, your worries, your fears.  You do not need to carry them anymore.  I will take care of them for you, but you must let go of them and give them to me”.

One by one, I gave my worries to Him.  I named them specifically.  Some of them were easy to let go of, and I felt foolish having held on to them for so long.  Others were harder; I was afraid of what would happen and I didn’t know if I could let go.  Gently Jesus waited, holding out His hands, never making me feel stupid or slow.

The heaviest burdens I left until last.  “This one is too heavy, Lord.  I cannot give it to you; I cannot lift it and I can’t let it go.  Can you take it from me?”  He reached behind me and lifted it easily from my back.  I instantly felt lighter.  I bowed my head in thanksgiving.

Then He spoke to me again.  “Hold out your hands”, He said. I sheepishly lifted them up to Him, feeling like a bad child who is going to get her hands slapped.   As I held them up, He put something into them.  It was gold, but it was not heavy; the size of a small loaf of bread.  “I’m giving you this to put into your heart”, Jesus said.  He gave it to me to replace all the worries I had just given Him.  If I left my heart empty, more worries would come to fill the empty space.  Jesus gave me something very valuable, like pure gold, to fill me up.  With trembling hands I took it and placed it over my heart.  I felt it enter my heart with a great warmth, filling me with peace, love and joy.  Again, I bowed my head because I was so thankful.

I was surprised when Jesus told me to hold out my hands again.  He was holding what looked like a burlap sack, filled with seeds.  As I held my hands out to Him, He filled them with the seeds.  They were seeds of kindness, love, hope, peace, gentleness, joy.  He put these first into my heart, but then He filled my hands with more.  “Go and plant these seeds”, He said.  He gave me lots, and I knew there were for people I would meet today.

Put yourself in the vision. Jesus is asking you to hand your worries and fears over to Him. Do that now. List them specifically. You don’t have to write them down, but make sure you tell Jesus what you are giving to Him. Let them go.

Now hold out your hands and receive something from Jesus. What does He give you to replace the worries and fears?
